TI - A True Treasure Island

The room has a nice cozy feeling. It is not large, but not small either, giving the place a good feel. The chairs are comfortable and you can actually lean back without bumping into the table behind you. The automatic shufflers keep the games moving. Being just off the casino floor is nice. It still has the open feeling because of the foot traffic passing by, but it doesn't have that constant drone of the casino floor. I like it. The tournament structures are great. Starting chip counts of $3500 is great. It allows you to actually play some poker in the early stages so it doesn't erupt into All In Lotto Poker in the third level. The only thing I didn't like is that it seemed tough to get a higher limit game going. I would like to see a $4/$8 as an option over the $2/$4, but that's the only suggestion I have.

I played in three tournaments, finishing in the money in two of them. Most players didn't seem to have much, if any, tournament experience, making bad calls with top or middle pair with weak kickers. The $2/$4 Limit was a donkey fest. Expect 6 callers to the flop, and a call to the river if they caught any piece of it. You can make some money, but expect alot of bad beats. The $1/$3 NL I played in was a little wild. One chip stack was at $4K, but he was stupid drunk lucky, making horrible calls and just getting lucky. I felt the competition, besides him, was average to easy. You can make money there if you have the time to sit and wait. Plenty of calls with mediocre hands.

The dealers were great, kept the games moving, and were friendly without interupting the flow of the game. Top notch group here.

Order a couple of drinks and they will remember what you were drinking when you come back the next day. Service was fast and you never had to look for a server. You will not go thirsty here, or lose your buzz because of service.

I have never felt more welcomed in a Poker Room. They truly appreciate you being there and want you to keep coming back. Plain and simple, it's good old Customer Service.

$2 per hour. You sit down, they swipe your card, you're good to go. Add to that the splash pots and jackpots . . . What more could you want?
