There's charity poker in the Chicagoland area, then there's WCPC charity poker. Kirk Fallah has been hosting and coordinating legitimate, fair and home-style charity games for as long as I can remember (I started playing in the early 2010s) and I can't recall ever having a negative experience playing poker while contributing to great causes.
What sets this charity poker setup from most others out there (there's only a couple or so legitimate guys doing it at this level) is the fact that you will not experience any "snobs" running the show. Just a bunch of great poker-minded folks that truly love the game.
The tournaments are very deep with more than reasonable blind levels considering the fact that the buys ins are super affordable. Perfect for newer players or those looking to practice deep stack play at some of the larger circuit or tour events. Kirk and the team ALWAYS make you feel welcome & at home and is the main reason I drive as far out as I do to play their events.
If you're ever in the Chicagoland area, I STRONGLY recommend you give WCPC a shot and have a great time. They have great cash games and deep stacked lower buy-in tourneys. Not to mention the TV SNG table where you can later replay your hands and find leaks in your game.
Kirk - thank you for running an awesome game. Can't wait to see you guys again!
