I don't care what anyone says, you have to go to the Horseshoe if you want a complete poker trip in Vegas. If this wasn't Binion's I would have given it a 3 (on size alone), but the Wall of Champions is worth the trip to Fremont Street. The brand new chips were also very nice. The bathroom was like a bad truck stop in Oklahoma, but I thought to myself "if Johnny Chan used this urinal, then it's worth it."
I played the 2-4 game here, and it was the most successful stop for the weekend. I played with a lot of middle-age guys, and not the poker hot shots I found elsewhere. All I had to do was bet a strong hand and they would pay me off, thinking I was trying to bluff. My friend played the NL game and said it was the toughest competition he found all weekend. He also found the NL game very surly, I had a great vibe at my table. Most were just there to have fun, which enhances my experience.
The dealers were solid. The best dealer was some kid who looked about 14 years old. No turned up cards, no disputes, all in all a clean game. I loved the old school bow ties, so that was a plus for them too.
For some reason our table was invisible to the cocktail waitress'. They seemed a bit understaffed and the manager said someone had called in sick so I'm going to cut them a break and not give them a 1. The also had the ugliest waitresses that I ran into.
They didn't do anything to blow me away, but the manager there was helpful and the wait wasn't long at all. They do know that people will come and play poker here, so they won't go out of their way a whole lot.
There's no bad beat jackpot, which I could care less about, but I don't know anything about the comps.
