Was recently at Excalibur. A friend of mine used to deal there and recommended for me to catch some lively games over there so I stopped in.
First, the negatives. Worst part was the wait staff. I didn't really find them very friendly and were somewhat rude. Don't know if I just caught everyone on a bad night but it was a little disappointing. Tables and chair could use an update. After a long session, I wasn't very comfortable.
This is kinda both - they have a ton of promos which is great but it seems like it's hard to keep up with all of them. So pardon the pun here - but it's a double-edged sword. Simplifying it would be easier for the players.
On the good side, the room itself is great. Plenty of room for everyone. Really liked the poker room staff. They did a great job and having talked to my buddy about it, he was right on that. Competition was good too. Obviously at every room, there are great players to dodge and especially at a place like Excalibur you're going to have a lot of touristy-types too. So as long as you keep your head on a swivel and figure it out, you'll do fine playing there.
With a few things to correct, this is a place I'd definitely go back to.
