I would say that the room was pretty good because it is very roomy between the tables and has good soft lighting. The tables are very nice with good felt and the betting line as well as recessed cup holders.
There are many locals who play here. I was perhaps one of the few tourists. The people are very friendly especially at the low limit 2-4 game. I switched to the 4-8 game and lost pretty quickly, but then again I've only been playing for a few months. I would say that you need more luck than skill on the low limit 2-4 game because everyone plays to the river on a draw and it is virtually impossible to bluff.
The dealers are pretty good and friendly. There was one Asian dealer on the 4-8 game one morning who made mistakes on every hand, but for the most part, the dealers are attentive and helpful.
Although the bar is directly in the room, it seems to take a long time for the cocktail girl to deliver my hot chocolate, which is quite delicious.
Late at night, there is a guy named Houston who is helpful in organizing the wait list. Also, there is a girl named Tammy who is very friendly and helpful. Overall, I would say they try hard to please the customer, which is generally typical for most employees at Green Valley Ranch. They could use a screen instead of the clipboard for the wait list though.
Comps are $1/hour up to $7/day. You can use the food comps at any restaurant except the Original Pancakge House which is inside the casino. A guy sitting next to me got a royal flush and they gave him $1,000 in cash. The manager stopped the game and counted each and every card in the deck to make sure there was no funny business going on, then they asked him for his tax ID.
