They used to have great daily tournaments; now it is cash only. They offer tourneys on certain occasions and it's standing room only. I can't imagine anyone saying no to dealer add-ons for every tourney as a way to entice dealers.
As far as the room's current state, it's just ok. And they get three stars bc they're the only game in town. At least for those of us not wanting to drive to Baltimore. The chairs are the most uncomfortable of any poker room I've played in. If you want players to sit and play for a while, make the room more comfortable. Offer a private snack menu just for the poker room with a few items easily retrievable from the food court. Have more than one server working the poker room.
I just moved here from Austin and I'm used to card houses like The Lodge and TCH. They keep players comfortable so they'll stay and play longer. Re-open the cage that's in the poker room so players don't have to stand in long lines to cash out. What is upstairs? There's an escalator (non-operational) right at the poker room. Is there space upstairs to expand? Get more tables, hire more dealers, and tournaments will generate enough revenue to justify it.
I guess what I'm trying to say as subtly as possible...bring back tournaments! Oh - and for crying out loud, use some signage so people know where tables are. People walk in and are told "table 10, seat 8," which is absolute gibberish to someone who's never played there before. Come on y'all. Thats just laziness.
