The room is located near the sports book area. The room is nice but not especially huge as compared to some of the other casinos. It is well lit and pretty well ventilated. I have trouble around smoke so that is an important factor for me. If you go there on a popular night like a Friday, expect to be put on a waiting list for 20 minutes or so
The competition was a little bit better than I was expecting. There are definitely some regulars there looking for young tourists especially since mandalay bay has quickly become a young person's hot spot. However, I am not a great player and I came out okay. Unfortunately the games they have running are a little steep for a beginner player's budget.
Most of the dealers appeared to be pretty nice and helpful. They definitely have a group of regular players that they all know by name. Sometimes it seems like they are a little too chummy for my comfort.
The cocktail waitresses werent very good. I always try to be patient because there are so many people and so few waitresses. The ones that I had were all very nice but they are understaffed. I really felt bad for them. They are stuck in these outfits that look really uncomfortable
Management seemed to really have their schedule together. It was pretty well organized and everything was taken care of in a timely manner given the number of people that were waiting
The bad beat jackpot was really high at the time. Also, the high hand jackpot paid off numerous times to different people while I was there
