We were in Vegas all of last week Sunday through Friday morning. We hadn't played here in two years so we were pleased to see upgraded tables and tournament chips.
Competition: Very good with a few first timers thrown in. One night there were four guys in the tournament on their 21st birthdays (to be fair, two were twins). Good amount of locals to keep us tourists honest.
P&C: Standard mLife points credit that I am happy to see in place now (Didn't used to be offered)
Dealers: Now, the one knock I used to have against Mandalay Bay was the stiff dealers. They were technically sound of course but most of them just didn't seem to act like they wanted to be there. That has changed. All of their dealers this year were engaging and in control of the game. One gentleman (Tuan I think) actually remembered me from a few years ago which was an ego boost.
F&D: Very friendly and prompt waitresses.
Management: Some of the best. Really well run room, prompt and friendly. One night I was the only one to sign up for the 10pm and the Brush sat with me and shot the breeze for a bit waiting for some walk ups. He didn't have to do that.
Mandalay Bay should be the standard for lower buy-in, new-to-casino poker rooms.
