Busier than i expected.

The room was busy, lots of people there specifically hoping the big bad-beat jackpot would hit. The high hand jackpots payouts help stimulate action too. The games were totally winnable. I had a couple of tough tables but a quick table change and i was in a better game. Good mix of gamblers and old nits. Yes its a locals poker room, but i didnt see any collusion or locals getting special treatment in the 20+hours of $1/2 NLH i played while staying here. I asked for a table change, got one quickly. Asked for dinner break, staff put me on the priority waiting list. Saw a few situations where floor had to be called, brush handled it fairly and without preference to locals in the hand. Maybe the locals do get favoritism on the Limit games which were totally dominated by old grey hairs, but i didnt see it in NLH. Overall I would rate the staff above average, really managed the room well, and the dealers were friendly with about average skill. Drink service was consistent but average. Other reviews mentioned the tables being too close together. Wasnt an issue for me at any of the tables i sat at. I would guess the tables have been moved to address that problem since those were written. If you've never been, its worth the drive out to visit the Red Rock. Good chance you'll win a few bucks in the poker room too.

Yeah, sounds like the room isn't the problem. Look inward. Maybe you will see the real problem. I don't play there... Read More
