This is the newest room in Las Vegas and very nice. Room is comfortable and spacious. Management and Dealers are top notch and friendly. I like the soda machine as a nice touch for players, even if it wasn't working properly.
But something is a bit off in terms of the people actually playing poker here. In the 30 minutes it took me to walk over, they cycled through 10 names on the wait list -- people either left or had given up. My table had two really bad players but once they bustled, I was sitting with 6 solid players, most or all of whom were locals, not drinking, not looking to gamble and paying as much attention to the NBA playoffs as the cards.
While Resorts World is technically on the strip, the poker room is a 10-minute walk from the strip, and I think this works against it. Left here at 11 PM with two tables running and walked to Venetian where they had at least a dozen games running. I'd guess the room is busier on the weekends, but otherwise not enough action to make it worth the trek. Good thing is the Poker Atlas app lets you check what games are going on and get on the wait list.
I hope they come up with some sort of promotions to encourage tourists to check out the room and I'll give them another chance when I'm back in town but don't think I'll make it a regular room.
