I visited Spades Poker House in Webster, Texas, and was impressed by how clean and well-maintained it was. The security person quickly gave me the rundown on how things worked, and I found the hourly fees reasonable considering there is no rake. The 1/3 no limit game had a rotating bomb, which was pretty mild, and they ran a bomb at dealer change every 30 minutes. The food was surprisingly good, but the dealers and floor managers were not very helpful and expected everyone to know the routine. I left down a little over half a buy-in and am unsure if I'll go back since there are other clubs in the area to check out first. However, Spades Poker House could be worth a visit for anyone looking for a decent game in a clean environment with reasonable fees.
