The Strat has a bit of a reputation as a low rent Strip prpoerty that has little going for it other than its rooftop amusements/restaurant. It's a budget stay with hotel-like rooms in a shady neighborhood. But the poker room is pretty new and spiffy. The felt and chips are decent, the dealers were competent, and the same goes for the room management. They have decent midnight tourneys and, as usual per the Strip, a mix of soft action and a few local rocks.
Not the worst you'll see on the Strip but a lot of low rent action. Especially at 1-2 NL where despite a $300 max buy in a lot of tourists play were tight/sloppy with short stacks and can't wait to go all in with hands like A-10 or a suited Q-K. You'll be able to figure out who the one or two decent players at your table are pretty quickly.
Pleasant and friendly, on the young side but not a lot of mistakes.
Quick and accurate.
They really promote their tournaments and try to bring as much action to the room as possible. The room is small and self-contained enough not to get swamped where they have more than they can handle, the location in the casino is secluded but not hidden or buried.
Didn't use them but I'm assuming it's a buck an hour with a comp card.
