Room is not really a room, just a roped of section of very wide hallway but when you are playing you don't really notice it except for certain time when a few of the slots are making a lot of noise. Tables are nice, bigger than average, so one doesn't feel cramped at a full table. No drink holders on table but small snack tables can be placed along side your seat. They provide free cookies, finger sandwiches and coffee on the side for most of the playing day. You hear great things about the cookies but noone mentions the coffee which is some of the best I have had. Games were usually 2-4 limit and 1-2 no limit and I did come across a 2-4 with a half kill. Tournaments seemed to run frequently tho I didn't avail myself. One of the few rooms where you could find at least a 2-4 game going in the early dawn.
I would rate this between a 4 and 5 depending on the time of day. Late night the competition went up a bit but still not that hard. If you are prepared to fold your Aces up when that 4th heart hits the board or your Kings when the Ace hits on the river there is money to be made when your hand holds up. Most people at the 2-4 tables where there to have fun, not play cutthroat and there was the occasional macho dude who thought he knew something about the game and could be put on tilt by pointing out the mstakes in his game.
Most dealers were competent or better and kept the game moving. Most were friendly and made it enjoyable. No serious problems with any of them tho one was an extreme stickler on every little thing and could get on your nerves. I like to call my bets since I have arthritus and can fumble with the chips at times ad some even caught on to it and told the players after me that they could act when many of them waited for me to get chips in explaining that a called bet is just as committed as putting the chips across the line and thus kept the action going.
Drinks were good and usually fast tho service could be slower in the wee hours near dawn. Most of the hostess were decent looking tho I usually don't pay attention to anything but the game when I'm at a table. A couple kept my drinks up to speed even without asking. No complaints here.
Can't really rate the management as I had little dealing with them. The one time we did was when we changed the table we were playing at from a 2-4 to a 1-2 no limit and the work was accomplished quickly. Management made sure that everyone at the table was agreeable to the change so that noone would feel that they had to quit the game just becazsue some wanted to play different stakes. One guy did not wish to play no limit and the table stayed at 2-4 until he left. After that the switch took place efficiently. Considering it was about 3:30 AM it was amazing.
What can you say about $3/hr comps when most places give you nothing or maybe a meal voucher if you are lucky. Good in any shop in the IP also so it took care of a lot of my souvineer needs. Only thing you need to know about the comps if you are a once in a great while visitor to Vegas is that they are not computerized and so the comps are not credited to your account until sometime after noon or so the next day, when someone picks up the slips and takes them to the player's club. that means that if you are leaving on a Friday any plans you had for spending comps earned on a Thursday are no good unlesas you are leaving late. Other than that one caution they can't be beat.
