Let me preface this first by saying that my negative review is NOT based on a bad result. I actually left with $540 in winnings.
I'd never been to the TI poker room and thought, on a recent Saturday, I'd give it a try. When I arrived the room was packed with both LHE, NLHE and tournament players. The air in the room was stuffy (the low ceiling contributed to this) and the room was raucous with conversation and exhortations to dealers, cards, poker Gods, etc. I was ready to leave but thought I'd stick it out since I was already there. I waited 30 mins for a seat at one of the 2 NLHE tables. In an hour, the stuffiness and the noise had given me a major headache. I took a pill and I played for a total of 3 1/2 hrs, couldn't take it anymore and cashed out.
Nothing unusual here. I've played in most of the strip rooms and the players compare with the competition I've come up against in Caesars, Venetian, etc.
The dealers were experienced and friendly, but did make a few mistakes. Some of the dealers became involved in conversations with players at the table, slowing the game. Not good. One of the dealers made the mistake of pushing the pot I'd just won to the wrong player. We had to point out her mistake before she corrected it and apologized.
I found the cocktail service to be rather slower than at other poker rooms.
The management seemed to be on top of everything and even went so far as to bring me a chair to sit in while I waited for my seat.
I didn't like the fact that I couldn't receive my $2 per hour comp for my poker play until I'd played for 5 hours. The High Hand Wheel is a joke. The spin average is a measly $50. Compared to the high hand bonuses that I can get in other poker rooms, it's an insult.
