This room reminds me of the better rooms in my hometown of Sacramento. It is a small room, but well run with lots of attention from management. The tables were in great shape. The chairs were very comfortable. I had plenty of space, and there were TVs that made watching a game easy if you are into that sort of thing while playing poker.
I didn't find this room to be any kind of donkey fest in the no-limit game, but I didn't feel like the room was pro filled either. I didn't see a lot of people chasing inside straight draws to the river. The players seemed fairly aggressive in my 3 visits to this room, so adjust your play accordingly.
The dealers seemed to do a fine job of running the games. They seemed to know what they were doing and knew when the table wanted a fun dealer who tells jokes, and when they wanted someone to just sort of shut up and deal.
The cocktail service was excellent. It is a small room which is not right within the casino area, but it is still very well covered by the cocktail waitresses. They still serve Red Bull and beers such as Sierra Nevada and Newcastle.
The room seemed to have no problem handling the tournament and cash game going on at the same time. People were seated only seconds after a player left. The electronic player tracking and list system seemed to make their job pretty easy with a small room. My one knock on the place was that they expected me to get my own chips at the cashier instead of having a chip runner. It isn't a huge deal in such a small room, but it is a perk you get used to after playing at the big rooms.
This place has the usual MGM-Mirage comps. It is nice to be able to swipe your card at the table and know your time is being kept. They offer 2 high hand jackpots. They aren't big ($100-200) and are for the 2 highest hands of the day. I don't usually like jackpots, but these are just fine since they don't take a drop. That is what moves this place from "average" to "good" in comps.
