Was here for opening night and all I have to say is that im quite impressed. The Tables and chairs had a great feel to them and The Venetian spared no expense by bringing out new $1 chips.
Opening night so being that they were hosting a celebrity/pro invitational only tournament there were alot of wannabe poker pro's playing the lower limts. Average of about 5 players to a flop at 4-8. alot of reraising on drawing hands. Im sure this will level out due to the pro tournament being only one night.
Dealers were somewhat ok. Allowed string bets on occasions and allowed callers who called out of turn to take back their bets due to a raise before them. I dont know the house rule on that but if your calling out of turn and someone raised before you you should have to complete the bet and not pull your premature call back and fold your hand. Had an instance where i notified the dealer about a marked card. Dealer acted if he didn't care. His response was that it was a new shuffle machine and there are several cards marked like that. Funny thing is I didn't see not one other card on that table that night with the mark i was referring to. Another thing i mentioned is that I'm sure the marking by the shufflemaster was prob not the cause considering it was a $25k machine. Dealer again didn't act like he cared.
Cocktail waitress were hot and service was fast. I gave this a Good rating because I asked for a Red Bull and it was brought in a wine glass w/ ice. I asked for can and said that they dont serve Red Bull that way however an hour later a poker player brought a canned Red Bull to table which when asked he said he got it from the waitresses.
Very organized and always available to take care of problems that came up. We were 6 headed and asked for a rate break and it was granted. We then went down to 4 handed and they raked only a dollar per hand as long as the pot was $10 after flop. Very nice indeed. Only thing I feel the management can improve in this category is to be more aware of what tables need filled by list. They do not have a tracking system on table that allows them to notify management that someone has left. This is a must in such a huge room!!!
Only comp we received was the free hat and the ability to explore the crowded room during tournament which was nice.
