To say this room was outstanding would be a disservice. The Venetian is absolutely the BEST room I have ever played in. Bar NONE! I have played in just about all of the rooms on the strip that are housed in major hotels but the Venetian is fantastic. The chairs are great. The auto-shufflers worked fine. Tables were pristine and the waiting area was par excellence!!!!! Bravo!! You MUST play here if you love tournament poker.
This is where the BIG BOYS play. If your a rookie or newbie you have no business playing here. Period! You have absolutely ZERO chance of making money in cash games or tournaments. Bottom line? If you cannot win on the internet or in live cash games where you currently play. Stay out of this room unless you are feeling extremely generous. I played 3 tourneys all of which were the 8p.m. $150 buy-in. I made one final table and cashed out 5th out of 63. The other I bubbled out 9th. The last I got knocked out early. Tough players that know how to read people. You need to profile players within the first 15 mins at your table or your toast. We had a few newbies each tourney but they were quickly eliminated. I figure the tournaments have 70% regulars mixed in with a few pros and about 30% tourists that have no clue. Enter at your own peril.
Outstanding dealers. They kept the game moving and quelled any issues that may have arisen at the tables.
Absolutely gorgeous cocktail girls. Great service and very easy on the eyes.
Tourneys started on time and were well run. The only knock I had is when they allowed 5 people to enter the 8p.m. tourney after the first break. I know your trying to make money but so are the players. That puts the 5 people we just eliminated right back into play. NOT GOOD!
$1 per hour. I used my comps during checkout time to pay for my internet usage. Basically, I got free internet for the 3 days I played at the Venetian. I also could have applied it to meals as well.
