The room is very visually stunning. You walk in and are immediately captivated by the sheer beauty and style of this poker room. It was very well maintained and clean. The atomosphere is very serious, yet exciting and fun. I had a very good vibe when I walked in and left very happy!
I played 10 handed $1/$2, no-limit hold'em that night. There were about 3 players who were touristy\just for fun players, they were easy to exploit, there was one player on my immediate right who was a regular and played cash games very well, gave very little money up and made few mistakes. The other six players were your basic $1\$2 players who could switch gears and wouldn't fall for traps, but still would make big mistakes. Overall the table was very average and not too difficult to beat, but no cake walk. I simply picked good spots and it made for a great night. But for the most part, it appeared that most players in the room were moderately experienced and I would not reccommend this room for casual players.
No problems from the dealers, they all seemed to be very experienced. They did accasionally do small talk, but for the most part they were there to make money and deal out as many hands as possible. They moved quickly and notified people of their action quickly to speed up the game. Half of the dealers I saw were friendly and the other half spoke little to not at all other than about the players action. If you are looking to see hands and play serious poker, this is the room. Casual players might be a little overwhelmed by the seriousness of this room.
The waitresses were of course very attractive, just like any person would expect from a big 5-star casino. They offer waitresses of all races, shapes, and ages, all of which were at no worse than moderately attractive to "marry me now" material. The waitresses did seem a little overwhelmed, but did offer fairly decent and timely service. I only drank bottled water, but the quality of water was upper end, "Fiji" water, so they spared no expense even on bottled water for the room.
Management was good. The list was well maintained and organized. They had a microphone to announce seat openings and was very audiable. The management staff was friendly and actually appeared to care about the players experience, unlike other casino's on the Strip. They had professional answers for my questions, rule questions, games spread, limits, etc. They had different rules than where im from, (Oklahoma) but they were very informative when explaining the rules of their room.
It seems that in Las Vegas, the standard comp system for poker rooms is $1 per hour, redeemable for food, gift, or hotel stay in that respective casino. This seems fair, but nothing to write home about. I did not see any advertisements or announcements of any kinds of jackpots offered either.
