I managed to make the 2.5hr drive down to Downstream on the 30th of December for their last NFL promotion for the regular season. They had multiple 1/2nl games, one 2/5nl, and one 5/10nl going. I only had to wait about 15 minutes before getting seated into a 1/2 game for about a half hour before getting seated into the 2/5 game. The 1/2 game played as a normal passive game and the 2/5 was juicy. I did manage to not pick up any pocket pairs higher than 9's but managed a very nice session. The game was better than most 2/5 games that I have played so before I knew it, it was time to make the 2.5hr trek home.
One thing I would like to see is some comped or discounted hotel rooms for poker players. I get many different offers from St. Louis casinos but I am still waiting for something from Downstream. It would make the 5hrs of driving back and forth more worth it for me if I didn't have to drive back so late at night. Heck, I know for sure that it would of doubled my 5hr session.
Overall a great room, with the 2/5+ games with plenty of action. Fast dealers, good table service, fast chip runners(for those that needed it), and enclosed poker room without the slot machine noise. Keep up the good work!
