It is nice to see the poker room active again. It isn't so nice that there are only 12 tables , but I got a seat on 1-3 NL game upon walking in at noon.
I found out through some diligent questioning of various kind staff that the big, successful poker room was causing parking shortages so that people who make the money for the casino by betting in stupid games and slots and losing big were getting getting crowded out by poker players who don't make money for the house .
This may or may not be true but sounds plausible . The obnoxious slots are still surrounding the small reopened poker room making noise and upsetting the normal hush and tranquility of a poker room (one of the attractions of playing the game ). Jungle noises like Tarzan and trumpeting elephants for hours on end :)
The staff are friendly and patient and helpful. Two players who tilted hard at another table almost dusted it up and they chilled them out quick. The dealers are doing their best but need practice managing the table (some more than others), but they are polite and pleasant.
My only critique, really is not so much the small number of tables ( though that is an issue) , but that they close the room at 8:00. There is no rationale for that I can see, it's supposed to be a world class casino ... I didn't inquire about that . But I hope they can expand tables and times .
On the whole I had a pleasant time playing for the afternoon. The competition at my table was a little lackluster , not too much excitement but that's how 1-3 tends to be in my experience.
Very nice high hand bonuses every hour. And the bad beat jackpots are huge for every hand, five figures , evidently because they put the money they've been sitting on back into it. So that's a real plus. If you get a bad beat, that is .
All the whiners and complainers on the reviews
here are probably, in general, miserable for other reasons. Don't let them wreck your day !
