I showed up at 11 am on a Sunday - the sports book was overflowing with NFL fans, but the poker room was dead empty. No 1-2 NL game going and you call this a "Big Room" in Vegas? I put my name on a list and sat down - game got started pretty quick.
I HATE the tables - hard rail, dumpy felt and no drink holders. Nice enough chairs and they do have little rolling carts for your drinks. I didn't hate them enough to leave and played for 16.5 hours.
Not enough drunk Canadians for my taste (really, what's more fun than playing with drunk Canadians) - but not a tough game at all. I was card dead and still managed to pull out a good profit. Sunday afternoon-evening was a bit of a rock garden, but it heated up after the NFL games were all over.
I was underwhelmed with most of them, but I got one really bad one who nearly had me call the floor. I like having lots of $1 chips - so I tend to throw out a $5 and get change even though I have a bunch of $1's. Am I a little odd - maybe, but it's a casino and they aren't short on $1's. All of the other dealers just made change from the pot and never batted an eye, but one flat out refused. She said "You have $1's - use them. I'm not making change." I almost called the floor, but decided not to make a scene. Might have forgotten to tip her though...
I have a 4 point scale for service and a 1 point bonus for being hot. All of the servers were great - bring me 2 diet cokes at a time, coffee in a bigger mug - wonderful. But they weren't hot. Kinda like having a friend's mom bring you drinks - really nice.
No complaints at all - they got a game up and running when they had enough for a short handed table. Moved people into open spots quickly. Very polite & helpful.
Normal $1 an hour - save it up and get a milk shake from BLT. Very difficult to use for table side food service. I think you have to swipe out and get a comp ticket, then order. Kinda @#$% me off, but I picked up AA just then so I just handed the guy some cash so he'd leave.
