I'll give you the bad and then the good of Orange City Poker:
The Bad:
1. Sketchy Location - The location is in a pretty sketchy looking strip mall, especially at night as the parking lot is not well lit.
2. Lacks food options - There is a bar that serves decent food options (think burgers and sandwiches) but not much else.
3. Pay for drinks - I don't drink alcohol but even for a cup of cranberry juice I was charged 2.5 with tip $4.
4. Drab and depressing inside - This wasn't a big deal to me but the inside decor is pretty worn out looking. I wouldn't take a date or any friends here. Think smoky card room down in someone's basement.
5. Crappy Comps - 0.40 comp is a complete joke if you ask me.
The Good:
1. Good Poker Action: You get a mix of skill levels here but it's generally pretty easy face down game. There are enough fishy players and maniac horse betters to make it a profitable spot. If you happen to sit down at a table full of local nits ask for a seat change.
2. Friendly Staff: The dealers and staff are friendly and pleasant. I have yet to run into anyone rude or unpleasant.
3. High Hand Promotions: All casinos have this for the most part so it's not a huge highlight but it is worth noting that OC does have them.
Conclusion: If you're a local living around the area, this will likely be a regular spot for you. I come for the Poker and not much else is worth getting excited about.
