I think this is quite a good room. Comfy chairs, nice TVs. I think they have done a pretty good job.
For the tourney you have your usual mix. Some tourists and some locals. For the most part the play was fairly tight. There were some loose players but most didn't last very long. I did not play well at all to start. I had JJ only to get out flopped or out rivered 2 times in a row. I lost a lot of chips with those Jacks. The structure of the tourney is really nice. you start with $4500 in chips if you have a players card. The blinds go up every 20 minutes. You have plenty of time to recover. The turning point for me came when I sensed a guy was trying to steal the blinds. I raised all in with a king high and he called with a queen high. Next a guy went all in with 55 and I called with 99. I thought he had a AK or AQ or a mid pair. My 9s held up then I went on a roll with my cards. I got dealt AK, KK, AQ and those hands held up each time. I made it all the way to 3rd place and we were all even with our chip counts. We all decided to chop as it was anyones game at that point. We chopped for $325. 1st paid $470, 2nd paid $280 and 3rd paid $220 roughly. Overall it was a good deal. I was able to take this money to mirage and make more money. More on that in my other review. This is a great tourney and you have plenty of chips to start with. You either have to build a good chip lead and sit back for the all in fest that comes after the 1st break or get lucky and win your all ins if you end up short stacked.
The dealers were good and had great personality. One was a newbie and made a couple mistakes but there was another dealer coaching him through it. Everyone makes mistakes and no one seemed to care.
Drinks come pretty much non stop, especially at that time of day when things aren't as busy
They were friendly and good at resolving a dispute
No Clue as I only played in the 10AM tourney. Didn't ask
