The room has a very cool and hip look to it. The tables and chairs all looked fairly new. The chairs have low back so it's not too comfortable to lean back when you want to rest. The room is also an enclosed room now (it used to be an open area next to the casino) so no cigarette smoke comes in through the entrance.
My goal when I visited Vegas last weekend was to find a poker room that didn't have too many pros or locals. So I stayed away from the big, popular rooms. Of the 3 poker rooms I visited, PH had the most casual players and tourists. People come here to just have a good time and the general vibe is that they aren't too serious. There was a lot of calling and minimal raising pre-flop in the NL game I played in. The players were in general mostly loose-passive players. Here and there, you'll find a tight "rock" player but all you have to do is stay away from them when they're in a hand, which doesn't happen often.
The dealers were pretty competent. They dealt the cards at an average speed and weren't obnoxious. In the 7 hours that I stayed at PH, there was only 1 or 2 misdeals or turned up cards.
I didn't do much drinking but when I did order water/soda, the waitresses took over 20 minutes to come back. I guess it was pretty busy there were only 2 waitresses working the poker room at the time.
The management seemed to be very friendly and hospitable. They greeted me as I entered the room and were happy to answer any questions. They handled any disputes respecfully and quickly. I didn't have any problems with them.
I was in Vegas only for the weekend so I didn't care too much about the comps. I don't think they offered any type of $1/hr comp though. However, they did have a high hand jackpot and a drawing for a pretty hot looking Harley.
