Good tournament, well-run room

Room is nicely laid out with plenty of room in between tables and the furnishings are of good quality. Chairs at the tables are comfortable. Lots of televisions so it is easy to watch a sports game in between hands. No autoshuffler on the table I was at, but all the dealers were quick so it wasn't a problem. Located near an entrance to the casino, the location entices many people to come in and play. It was a little noisy, but not too bad and I didn't find it to be distracting. My table was near the room entrance and the room is enclosed by a half wall. When I entered the casino I noticed many people were smoking. It seemed worse than at other casinos. But once I was in the poker room, I didn't really notice any smoke drifting into the room.

I played in the 7 p.m. $60 tournament. This a good tournament and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys playing in tournaments. Blind levels are 20 minutes, starting chip stack is 4,000 (4,500 if you have a players card), and blinds start at 25/50. You get a lot of play for your tournament dollar. In the early stages of the tournament my table had a mix of strong and weak players. There were opportunities to win chips from the weaker players who called with hands they should have folded long before the river. As the tournament got down to the last 2-3 tables, the competition got tougher. I hope to play in a cash game here the next time I visit Las Vegas. My trip this time was too brief (two nights, part of the trip was for work).

There was no autoshuffler at our table (or any other tournament table as far as I could tell). But the dealers all worked quickly and understood the "clock was ticking." The dealers were friendly and didn't make any mistakes.

Prompt and frequent service throughout my time there.

Tournament was very well run (85 players signed up) with tournament tables consolidated quickly and players moved to tables efficiently (to balance the number of players at each table)as players were eliminated from the tournament. Managers on duty were polite when I entered, answered my questions, and gave me their name in case I had other questions or needed help. Made me feel welcome. My tournament table was near the front desk. I observed that they ran the cash game tables well and managed the waiting list so that no one was waiting too long to get in a cash gme.

By signing up for the players card I not only got extra tournament chips, but coupons for match play at other table games and slots (extra slot credits matching what money you put in a machine up to a cetain limit and a $25 coupon if you bet $25 or more in a table game such as blackjack, craps, etc.). Didn't play a cash game, but understand there are comps for that as well. Players club sign up is conveniently located next to the poker room and signing up took two minutes.
