I. The room is up there with the best in Vegas (Wynn, Bellagio, MGM). While not as warmly decorated, it is by far the most functional poker room in Vegas due to its size. On Friday night, the place was packed with drunk tourists. Also, the separate tournament room is a real plus to ensure a quieter environment for their daily tournaments.
I played 1 hour of 3-6 Limit waiting for the 6-12 table to open & made $50. I made well over $300 in 2 6-12 sessions against some very frustrated river chasers. For example, the betting is capped (5 bets) pre-flop between 4 players. I hold QQ. The flop comes A, Q, rag - rainbow. 3 of us 3 bet the flop. The turn is a K. Now one other guy 3 bets & I call. The river is a 7 which pairs the board. Does he have AA or KK? Nah. I put him on AK and he called my 4 bet & showed me AK. Nice pot.
Very professional. Most came from other casinos, so I didn't have any newbie mistakes at my tables. They ran a quick & efficient game.
Only average here - the biggest opportunity for improvement. Ok in the looks department, but either the bar is a quarter mile away or they need to triple the number of servers in the room. 30-40 minutes between drinks is completely unacceptable.
for a new room, they were already on top of things (outside the drink service). I was always politely greeted and placed on the list within a minute of walking in the room. With a room of this size, CP should really invest in the MGM table management software to reduce the constant yelling between dealers & the floor.
$1 per hour.
