The room itself was average, quite comfortable, not very crowded. The staff was pleasant and except for the construction mere feet away to the lobby entrance, it was fine.
I enjoyed the daily tournaments they offered. NL 55$ buy in, 87% payout, 40 players max at 2am, 10am, and 6pm. The best thing was, if you were a bit late for the Flamingo game, you can walk across the street to Ballys and catch the 11am game. Your players club card and poker room rates apply at both rooms too.
What I enjoyed about the Flamingo was the 1/2 and 2/4 no limit games that always had at least one seat open. 100.00 minimum buy in, 300 max. So if you catch it right, there's no one there with more than 500 dollars and for me, No limit is a better game with regard to tough players vs easy as far as picking them out and getting reads on betting patterns and other tells. Limit is much different in that regard, particularly in as far as betting patterns and identifying a certain type of play. ie; maniac, tight/aggressive, passive, loose, etc.
The players were seemingly knowing in that they wouldn't continually call preflop raises. They weren't tight, don't misunderstand. However they were quite capable of folding middle pockets to a preflop and postflop raise. Very few fish with occasional bluffing. Very solid play in my opinion.
Less than 10% of the dealers here were less than great. Most of them were outstanding.
Well, I don't drink, however the constant flow of all available drinks were fine. Many frequent visits by a coctail waitress. Refreshing to have coffee in great supply at 2am.
The room was ran well indeed. Partly due to smallish amounts of players sitting. In general, the staff was great and helpful. Not intimidating to the novice to live games I wouldn't think.
Nothing to report here.
