My wife and I played NUMEROUS tournaments the week of Decemner 12th through the 17th of 2009. For many of the reasons others have posted they did not like the room, I did like Luxor's poker room. I liked less televisions because it was less distraction for me. I liked the comfort of the tables as well as the chairs. I also don't care for automatic shufflers, so that didn't bother me either.
I only put average here because there was a good mix. Many experienced, good players. Several really good players. A lot of beginners that were honestly trying to learn. A few donks, but you're going to get those anywhere and at all levels. My best experience yet as I cashed five times on the trip. Two wins, one third and two chops. My wife also cashed twice.
I have to say that Luxor's dealers as a group are the best of all the places I have played. Engaging, prompt and know the rules. I saw the shift manager called over ONE time. He was called over becuase a non-English speaking player did not call All In and was forced to make a call and unfortunately for him he gave away his hand.
As good as anywhere else I have played on any game. By the third day, several of the waitresses knew my order and all were friendly. Now I only drink beer, so I can't say anything about getting crazy drinks delivered.
The poker room management was always friendly and helpful. Again by the thir day they knew my wife and myself's names.
I knew from last year that they don't use the player's card so I didn't even ask for any. Not a big deal to me.
