The MGM Grand poker room was exceptional. It has a very slick feel with brand new, high tech tables. It is located right next to the sports book (yes!) so a card player/sports fan can spend a nice, long stretch of poker while keeping a close eye on the games. TVs in the poker room exist, but they are not big screen so they can be difficult to see.
Having played strictly 200 NL, I found that the competition was soft. Mostly filled with younger players who are willing to take chances, the game can be very profitable.
Every dealer I had was good with the exception of one who called the floor manager because a player cursed at the table. Bad manners, sure, but the table in general was very loose and having fun so it should not have mattered. More importantly, the quality of the dealers was very good. I did not witness a single mistake in the several days of my trip.
I was served 5 Guinness during my night and everyone was served quickly. Red Bull was served around the table.
There really is no reason for me to comment here as the management did not impact my games at all. That's a good thing.
None really to speak of.
