Being new, the room was in great condition. The high ceilings and layout give this room an open comfortable feel. Overall the management and employees were friendly and welcoming. I particularly liked the computerized player list. Average wait varied from immediate seating to 15 minutes max. There was quite a bit of intrest in the daily NL tournament and there was a line at 9:30 when registration opened.
Overall I enjoyed playing at the MGM very much!
Played 5 sessions and every table had at least one dealer and one local playing solid poker. Overall you could usually find at least 3 players per table who were new or poor players. Ended up on the plus side 5 out of 5 sessions, twice more than doubling up. Most players were NOT drinking, however there were enough novices and tourists that this can be a very profitlable room to play. Plenty of loose calls and fish.
The dealers seemed to be very good or very bad. There were several VERY good dealers who kept control of the game and kept the action moving. The better dealers were generally friendly and outgoing. However there were also some very bad dealers, exposing cards, cards on the floor, and errors making change. I can only assume that the quality of dealer will improve the longer this room is open.
Drinks were often at the table within one or two hands of sitting down. Orders were correct and timely.
The management seemed to be going out of their way to make sure all players were served quickly and were happy. They were approachable and could often be seen answereing questions or conversing with players. The computerized player list seemed to work very well as empty seats were filled within one or two hands. Played in the daily no limit tournament and was pleased with the efficiency of the tournament operation.
