I have played in all the rooms in Vegas and A.C.
MGM Grand is by far the best room. It's a tad noisy, but I got used to it. There is a lounge that plays music next to it.
The tables are the best. Tile outside to stack your chips.
The day tournaments are a better overlay at $65 then the nightly tournaments at $125. They last about 3 hours. Played in two but didn't cash. Still they are run really good. I would suggest adding more chips to the $1200 you get and have 30 minute rounds. The night tournaments are 30 minutes. Day tourns are only 20 minutes. Had a great time. Players are real loose and most aren't good at all. Nice folks though.
I won $1500 for my trip of 4 days. Played two Ceasar's tournaments (cashed in one). The players are average. Mostly young and restless. Lot's of fish. I will make most of my N/L play at MGM. They have numerous $1/$2 and $2/$5 games all day and night. I played only 1/2 this trip.
The dealers are very friendly. Hardly any mistakes. RazzO is there. He is still as pleasant and friendly as ever. My first trip to Vegas in 1992 was highlighted by RazzO dealing to me at Mirage. He helped my wife by letting her know the game was friendly. She was very afraid to play public poker.
They are very fast and those auto shufflers (which I hated at first) help them get out more hands. I also noticed that the dealers get players chips and get dealers chips for their trays on their breaks. These dealers are great team workers and high spirited.
Incredible service. Didn't wait more than 3-5 minutes for a drink. Also, I ordered some food from the bar and it was brought to me (with a table included) in less than 5 minutes. The same girl (Emma, I think) who was running around serving drinks did both food and drinks. Best sevice I have had. Have to be the best in town.
The managers call the players who are on the list. This staff from bottom up is top notch. The manager, or director (Mike Greene), did a great job hiring this staff. All great attitudes and very professional. Somehow my card didn't get swiped and I played for 5 hours. Went to get a comp and discovered it. Richard (shift boss) made it right and got my hours. Didn't check, just took my word for it.
I am glad that I got a card at the desk on my first day at MGM. If I hadn't been asked by one of the dealers I wouldn't have had the hours I earned. You need to register for a players card when you sign up. You get one dollar an hour for play. You can use them at any eatery at MGM casinos. It's a great thing for players. Getting a little something back.
