This has to be my favorite room in Vegas. The tables are great. Electronic log in at the table with your players card and a strip of marble surrounds the table where your chips lay. The room has a very modern feel with many flat screens hanging on the walls. The room is a perfect example of what is to come from future Las Vegas poker rooms. The only downfall can also be a positve here. The room is surrounded by a few nightclubs and loud music can be heard in the poker room at night. It doesnt bother me but I have heard others complain about it. As a rule if u have an Ipod I would at least take it. Never know, you might find the music distracting.
Have to say the competition is pretty average. A mixed bag of fish and sharks make for an interesting game. The games tend to be loose passive at limit tables and loose aggressive at lower NL tables. The 2-5 game usually consists of dealers and local rounders. Competition at limit games ranges from amusing to brilliant play. The last time I played there were 2-3 solid players at the table mixed in with drunken tourists with money to burn. One woman even had a hand ranking chart next to her chips. She left with the chart and no chips. They spead 2-4, 3-6, and 4-8 on a consistent basis. The 4-8 game has a quite a few regulars and the lower games are usually full of inexperienced players having a good time. Tight aggressive play will be a consistent winner in this room.
Hands down the best dealers in town. Friendly, knowledgeable, and consistent. They keep the game moving at a steady pace and are always on top of the game. Kudos to the dealers in this room. You are what a Las Vegas poker dealer should be. Thank you.
They are a good rating but Im still going to give them the excellent mark because they're so close. The bar is located in between the walls that seperate the poker room and sports book. They are fast and I have seen them make a few mistakes but its rare. They are attractive but not on the same level as the venetian or wynn (although they are better at their jobs). Don't ask for shots here, its a no no at the MGM.
Management is great. They are always friendly and helpful. They run a tight room but keep it fun. Ive never seen a bad floor decision when they have been called. Visit this room a few days in a row and I would be suprised if they dont call you by name.
Im giving it an excellent because of your choices to use your one dollar an hour comp. There is a great sanwich shop next to the room or you can use the comps at many of the fine dining restaurants in the MGM. Even Tom Kelller's (Top Chef) CraftSteak. Ask the front desk for a list of restaurants where your comp dollars can be used. There is no high hand or bad beat jack pots, but places that offer this also rake more from your pots. The room also offers a discount on room rates if you play 4 hours a day during your visit.
