Not exactly a room, more of an open space that’s sealed off, but it is my favorite for many reasons. The main one being, the ability to make money here. If you know how to play against drunks and people that will chase a 3 outer, you will profit. Lots of drunk tourists and college kids that have never played live before. The tables are nice, they have built in shufflers (which I prefer). A marble edge around the felt (looks nice, but often causes cards to get stuck and become visible to other players. And drink holders. Comfortable chairs make that all night poker session more tolerable. There is a state of the art list management system. There are 8-10 high-definition televisions hanging on the walls. And there is an electronic “control center” located at each table that allows the poker dealers to do everything from summon an elusive cocktail waitress, to track player comps. $2-4, $3-6, and $4-8 limit are common while anything higher is a little harder to get a table going. And $1-2 NL and $2-5 NL are common while the $5-10 or higher is on occasion. I have never come across a mixed game of any limit here. The biggest complaint most people have is the loud music that comes from the clubs that are near by. Never more than a 20 min wait, even on a Friday or Saturday night. Like 99% of all other card rooms it is smoker free.
If you sit down and don’t see fish, that means you’re the fish! There are a few locals that play there (including myself) but like I said before, for the most part it is drunks and college kids that watch way too much WPT. God bless them! They allow me to make more money in a day than I would working 9-5 for a week
Dealers here are average to above average. Your not going to find the superb ones that you would at the Bellagio, the Venetian, or the Wynn, but they’re all good people and don’t make a substantial amount of mistakes.
I don’t drink while I gamble, but just for this review I decided to. The speed of the service is average, unless you get a waitress that really likes to hustle, then its great. The better you tip the better the service of course. I’m very particular about how I like my drinks and the waitress seemed average in bar knowledge. (Not an airhead by any means, just young) The quality and prices of drinks are in my opinion, average. If your like me and don’t drink the waitresses carry bottled water and canned redbull on their trays for quick service. Most of the waitresses are late 20’s early 30’s with a few younger and a few older. They can be summoned by the dealer with the “control center” if need be. Food is also available 24/7.
This is another reason why this is my favorite room. I have never had a problem with the managing of this poker room. I’m sure I get my way more often that not cause I play here 3+ times a week, but I think most will agree with me. If you don’t like something that is going on, don’t be afraid to call over the managment, don’t always rely on the dealer to do it, the management will be more than happy to fix any problem that may occur.
I also enjoy the comp system that they have here. Tourists don’t necessarily like it because there is no high hand price or bad beat jackpot, but for the max rake for any table no make the limit is only $4, and that’s why the locals love it. And if you have a comp card you can earn $1 an hour for every hour of play, up to $10 a day. Be sure to ask for the card, because it will not always be offered. And I believe it’s a $40 discount on rooms after 5 hours of play each day.
