I thought I would try the Palms since I live just a few minutes west of there, and I liked what I found. Tables in good shape, chairs reasonably comfortable. The easiest chairs to move. Their room is actually two rooms, one for limit and one for NL. There is a table in the back of the NL side for higher stakes games. The rooms are separated by a hallway with payphones and restrooms in the back. They play all games 10-handed which can be a bit cramped at times, but it's still very roomy, and MUCH more roomy than the Bellagio (they also play 10-handed).
An equal mix of locals and tourists. Also an equal mix of rocks, sharks, and fish.
Good dealers, very few misdeals, pots right, cards came quickly. They are very friendly and easy to talk to.
Pretty good, they will bring you whatever you like. I only drink juices, water, and Diet Coke when I play, but FYI they have Red Bull and will get top-shelf drinks if you ask.
There was a drunk at our table who was getting loud and abusive. He and his friend were actively colluding and dropping numerous f-bombs despite warnings from the dealers, the floor, and management. After the 3rd warning, and the drunk guy getting loud and belligerent, security escorted them both out of the room so the real poker players actually play poker.
The ususl $1 an hour up to $10 a day.
