70% of the players are locals. Dealers also play here regularly. Extremely small poker room divided into a 4/8 and under area and then a no limit area.
The reason I have avoided private games in my poker years is the fear of collusion between those I don't know and sleight of hand dealers. A casino is supposed to be free of that. If you want to see collusion at its finest, come to the Palms. It is disgusting and open. The dealers and management know of it but since 70% of its players are local, they are in bad shape to stop it. You would not think a major casino (if you call the Palms one) would allow something like this but it is very real and very open. If that is not bad enough, they have a diamond flush giveaway. You get a newbie or an old timer with a couple of diamonds in the hole and you will not get rid of them under any circumstance until that river comes...and of course you have then been cracked.
No problems at all here other than letting some things happen between players go unreported. Very little verbal interaction but no mistakes noted.
Hugh Hefner loans these girls out to serve drinks. Think I'm kidding? Great looking ladies here and quick with the drinks. This is the only reason to come here. Save money and just stand outside the room and stare at them...
They have a written list and PA system to announce your seat is ready. Very friendly at the desk. This place could be decent if management would step up and put a stop to the stupidity/collusion.
$1 comp an hour up to 7 hours a day. Not bad as that money builds and can be used at any restaurant at Palms. Also high hand jackpots and random cash drawings throughout Monday and Tuesday. Don't forget the dreaded diamond flush money either.
