I like the players here more than any of the other Houston rooms. It's a good vibe and reminds me of Final Table in PDX (which a very interesting/fun place to play replete with IRL cartoon characters abound daily).
But I only really go there to hang out and play some of their small buy-inhold-em tourneys. $10 daily plus $12/hr is too steep for $1/2 or $1/3. They don't offer true NLH cash, anyway. Only "Hold Em with 1-2 rds of Omadraw" forced in. No thanks. If I want a mixed game, I'll go play HORSE in the desert like it's always been. Never imagined I'd see actual poker rooms sans dedicated NLH tables. But here we are, Houston. F it, let's all just sit around and play bomb pots, amirite?!? I kid but mfrs out here doin just that more and more lately, as well.
But like I said, I still recommend Paramount for casual tourney play. I'll stick to Legends where they moved on from the (slowly dying but player friendly) seat-fee model to a very reasonable $7 capped rake. Elite is pulling $12ish(?), themselves...too much unless you're playing say, $5-5...which they DO offer once a week.
But wait, there's more! If you know me at all, you know that I simply CANNOT leave a review for poker rooms, Boba Tea, Amazon Prime sex toys...whatEVER without mentioning the two Cypress rooms, tho! Which, simply put, are truly just havens for retards who don't even bother paying attention to the massive theft being perpetrated via "Leave it to Beaver" sized rakes. I'd LOVE to play poker with your Nana..no, really! But I - nor anyone else - can beat her AND that hellish vig...high hand promos, be damned.
Stay -EV, Houston!
