The fluorescent lighting makes me feel like I'm hanging out in a morgue. The room is in good condition but the general atmosphere of the whole room is depressing.
The omaha players are old, stuck and grumpy. The 2-4 limit players are a little more fun and are usually just there to hit the jackpot (when there was a jackpot) or to just kill time. The 4-8 players like a lot of action so they tend to cap bets pre-flop. The no limit players are a mixed breed - there are a lot of local grinders, experienced players and random drunks (you never know what you will run into). The tournament players are pretty experienced and are generally good.
Most of the dealers seem drained, probably from the fluorescent lighting and dealing with some very rude players. They seem experienced but there is no incentive to be very good. They treat it like its a dead end job. There are a few dealers that seem to have a force field around them and are full of life. Brandon and Ricky are a couple of names that come to mind. Not only are they upbeat, they care to be very good at what they do. They should probably get out before the room sucks the life out of them!
Cocktail servers are fast and efficient. The drinks are on par with the quality of the casino, but surprisingly they have pellegrino!
The room is managed well, but I can't get past the depressive atmosphere of the room.
