The large room was nice enough and very clean. There are 20+ tables spreading Limit, NL, and Omaha regularly. The tables are OK as are the seats. However, the Orleans runs some of the best low buy-in ($50 or less) tournies in Vegas. As they are so far off the strip, you do get more locals than at other casinos.
The locals are either old rocks or good players, or both and there are a lot of them in the Orleans. You can make money against them, but it requires good, solid play to do so. The few tourists increased in numbers as we got closer to the Sat. Limit tournament. I won the $50 buy-in playing in a cash game prior to the tournament. Special note - if you want to play in the tournies, get there 1.5 hours before the start and start playing. They open the sign-up to current players first, and then the general public. The tournies get more tourists, thus are a little easier. I played the Sat noon Limit tournamant (the only Limit tournamant I know of) and ended up chopping the $6K pot with 5 others for $745 (my not in first or second split). Not bad for my first tournie that I free rolled with the morning's ring play.
Very skilled, but they definitely know the locals by name and give them plenty of lip. I thought on dealer and local were going to come to blows - and there were only 2 tournament tables still playing at the time!
Cold & Hot! Cold beer served by smokin' hotties! Definite eye candy at the Orleans.
All tops in my book. The TD ran a great tournamant and settled any discussions, paid the bounties ($5 for knocking out a player from the tournament) and paid the winners quickly.
