Dedicated poker room, with a rail for the birds. Occaisional second hand smoke, but dealers or floor run the offenders along quite quickly. Free covered parking structure super close by. Large room with Mardi Gras theme. Chairs and tables in fair, or better, condition. Chips are generally clean-ish. Tables are well spaced and I have never felt cramped. Except a few times when I had XXXL sized humans on each side of me...check please! Even though this is my favorite room, it only gets a 4. The reason: No Bravo. In the year 2012 that is totally unacceptable. If you forget to check out with desk before you leave, all the time from that session disappears. Poof!
A few people have griped to me that the Orleans is full of unpleasant old grinders seeking jackpots and comp hours. I have not seen to much of this in the last year, 100+ hours. Sure there are a few ornery-ol-grumps, but all-in-all I have encountered all types of players there...from the aforementioned grouchy geriatrics to the young buck hoodie and Ipod crowd. During a five hour session there are always plenty of opportunities to get your money in. And sometimes wild bouts of gambling break out during an otherwise friendly game of poker.
This is one of the highlights of the room. The dealers are effiecient, friendly, and knowledgeable. A few are very cute. The keep the game flowing and never seem to play favorites.
The waitresses at Orleans are friendly, smoken-hot and scantily clad. Woo hoo! They drop by often, ten or fifteen minutes and rarely mess up my order. I only drink coffee (ok) and water (wet) But on a few occasions I had a beer or a mixed drink they were good.
I only am able to give a 4...no Bravo (see above) But, the floor, chip runners, and cashier folks are all great. I had an issue once, and it got cleared up to my satisfaction, rather quickly. If I ever have a question, there is usually someone close by to satisfy my curiosity. I have been known to call the floor to my table, for a \\"random ruling.\\" But now I just stick to coffee and water.
$1.25 an hour good at all the B connected properties. There is a quad over quad bad beat jackpot the hits 100k at times. Plus during this month, Aug 2012, there is a \\"splash pot\\" promo.Once an hour, at a randomly selected table, they put $100 in the pot before the hand is dealt. Love it. Hope this proves popular enough to continue past August. Even just for gits and shiggles!
