Played the 10 a.m. $20 tournament just to see if the most recent reviewer was right.
He was far off
I believe I may have found my new favorite room. Tournament started with only 6 players, but quickly filled a single table, which is not unusual for morning tournaments. Most players were obviously regulars but friendly and welcoming to a newcomer and even allowed me to join in the jocularity, which often is not the case.
Dealers were, for the most part, efficient and fun. One of them, Katie, had so much fun interacting with the players (without hurting game flow at all) that it was like getting a poker game and a floor show for only $20. Finished just out of the money -- forget the exact spot -- but it was the best time I had losing in a long time.
Would get a 5 from me, but the tournament chips are old, faded and some are dirty. A new set of tournament chips and they'd get that last point out of me. Didn't pay attention to promotions and comps.
They spread 2-6 limit, one of my favorite Hold 'Em games and also Stud (my favorite) although it's that split pot stuff. But as hard as it is to get a stud game anymore, I'll likely give hi-lo a try again.
Servers come around regularly, and don't seem to mind you checking out the skimpy costumes. They even engage you in discussion about them, and the changes that will make it even harder to concentrate on the game.
One of the best outings in awhile. Nothing like the other recent reviewer experienced.
