The room was very comfortable. The talbes are oversized so that you aren't sitting on top of the guy next to you. They had three plasma screens for sports viewing. I loved the new table felts that featured Phil Gordon and the Spearmint Rhino tournament. The only thing that I would like to see is the room on the first floor in order to get more action.
These were some of the best limit games I have ever played in. The players ranged from those who didn't even know how to play (for some it was admittedly their first time) to those who were experienced players, but wanted to see every flop. I flopped quads twice - with a high hand bonus to boot - and got paid off in three spots one time and in four spots the other time!
The dealers were extremely friendly. The made an effort to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable, even if they were novice players who might have otherwise been intimidated. I was impressed by the staff's ability to learn the players' names (and not just the locals) - they greeted me by name my second day there and every day after. The overall techinical dealing ability of the staff was good, not great. There were a handful of dealers who were excellent: Tom, Big Kevin, and Lenny. Special kudos to one of the day shift dealers, "Bad Beat" Pete. He probably played with me more than he dealt to me, but it was great fun each and every time we were at the table together.
The bar was very close by, so the cocktail service was extremely quick. It seemed like these ladies were making rounds every 10 minutes. They were all very polite and professional. Very good service from Dawn, Julie, Lupe and Sandy.
I was extremely impressed by the manager and his floor staff. First, the daily tournaments are extermely well run. I also played in a special tournament that they had ($200 buy-in). The manager Mike ran that tournament. It went very smoothly, especially with nearly 100 people involved and running the tournament in flights. Also all the floor decisons were fair and consistent. They never let any of the playes get out of line, even though there was plenty of drinking going on. Finally, the floor staff was very helpful in securing my accomodations and answering all questions. Thanks to Little Alan and Jim.
This is the only poker room downtown with a bad beat jackpot. It was a little over $12k while I was there. They also have high hand payouts. I recieved a food voucher each day I played there. I think it is 4 hours of play for one. I also got my hotel room discounted to $32 a night because of my poker play.
