I've been to Monte Carlo twice... the atmosphere was pretty laid back, and the players and dealers and management were friendly. I think the thing that kind of stands out for them is their high hand bonus (they have bonus payouts for making quads, straight flushes, and better). The bonus is incentive to make you want to play there (yes I've been lucky enough to win).
I played some 2/4 limit hold'em. My table was pretty loose, not surprising at these limits. You will get paid off if you make your hands. There were quite a few novices along with a couple of decent players, you can tell there are novices just from the times where they kept chasing or had acted out of turn. On the 1/2 no limit table I was observing while waiting there was a lot of crazy action - raises and all ins with A6... just the kind of stuff you want.
Dealers were okay. Friendly, few misdeals, fairly quick, but they could have done a better job of holding back the newbies who kept acting out of turn on my table.
Service was good, even though I only ordered one drink. Servers came by pretty regularly.
Three and a half rating. I've been here twice, and the management have been quite friendly and knowledgeable. One time I was figuring out how to try to tip a dealer for the high hand bonus and management guy told me how without even me asking. One time I put my name on a list and got crossed out by accident... but maybe it was because I didn't walk up to the table when a new game started after the guy told me... I can forget it, no big deal. It would be nicer if they had a computerized system like the MGM.
Don't know about comps. But the high hand bonuses are awesome. Can't go wrong if you get lucky here. Worth checking out. :-)
